The Ness Avenue culvert replacement is anticipated to occur within the next 5 years and would reduce traffic on Ness Avenue to one lane in each direction during construction. Between the two stages the road will be reopened to vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Construction will be carried out in two stages with new culverts being constructed between January and April 2018 and road reconstruction taking place in May and June 2018. Linwood Street and Winchester Street will be closed at the culverts during construction and vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists will be re-routed during this time. The two culverts will be replaced simultaneously and there will be temporary road closures to accommodate construction. The primary objective is to improve the flow of Truro Creek, and prevent Linwood Street, Winchester Street from future flooding and improve road conditions and roadside safety. Between the two stages the road will be reopened to vehicle and pedestrian traffic.Ī preferred design was developed to replace the two existing Truro Creek culverts at Linwood Street, Winchester Street as they are in poor condition. The two culverts will be replaced simultaneously starting in January 2018 and there will be temporary road closures to accommodate construction. Another update will be provided before the road work begins. Remainder of culverts construction and roadway reconstruction work adjacent to the culverts on each end begin when weather permits and could begin as early as May 2018. The culverts replacement work has been substantially completed at this time. Truro Creek Culvert crossings at Winchester and Linwood Streets are now open to traffic and pedestrians. Another update will be provided once the work is complete. A letter to residents in the immediate vicinity and affected by the work will be delivered prior to start of construction. All residents will be able to access both streets from Silver Avenue on the north side. Winchester Street will be limited to local traffic only between Ness Avenue and just south of the culvert location, and will be completely closed to all vehicular and pedestrian traffic extending from just south of the culvert to just north of the culvert location. Linwood Street will be closed to all vehicular and pedestrian traffic at Ness Avenue, extending to just north of the culvert location. Roadway reconstruction work adjacent to Truro Creek Culvert crossings at Winchester and Linwood Streets will begin on Monday, and will take approximately nine weeks to complete. Winchester and Linwood Streets are now open to pedestrian and vehicular traffic. Roadway reconstruction work adjacent to Truro Creek Culvert crossings at Winchester and Linwood Streets is now complete, with landscaping works to be completed before the end of the month.

Stretches like child’s pose and downward dog are particularly good because they provide a sense of relief, not just in the lower back but also throughout all your back muscles-alleviating any tight spots. If your lower back pain is more of a general achiness or discomfort, though, it's worth trying some yoga stretches to address any tightness and alignment issues. If you have an issue that requires medical attention, it's best to address it before it becomes worse. Cyrelson suggests seeing a physical therapist before doing any exercises. If you have any history of lower back injuries, problems with your discs, or experience pain that lasts more than 72 hours without improving, Dr. Is it okay to do yoga with lower back pain? If it actually hurts, ease up on the stretch." That means you should feel a combination of muscle tension and release, but if there’s any pinching, sharp pain, or brief numbness, ease way back on the stretch. “Pain is how our bodies tell us something is wrong. "Never stretch into a position of pain,” Dr. It's important, though, to make sure you're in tune with your body and to stop doing anything that makes any discomfort worse. She adds that yoga is generally safe to do daily. "Yoga is great for working on flexibility and core stability, correcting posture, and breathing-all of which are necessary for a healthy back," Sasha Cyrelson, P.T., D.P.T., O.C.S., clinical director at Professional Physical Therapy in Sicklerville, New Jersey, tells SELF. Simply put, the movements-and the isometric, or movement-free, holds-used in yoga can help you build both strength and mobility, both of which play a role in reducing low back pain. How can I reduce lower back pain with yoga? Here’s everything you need to know about how to use yoga to give your lower back some love. But in many situations, doing some gentle stretches can help relieve tightness and give your lower back some relief. It's always important to figure out what's causing pain so you can address it and prevent it from happening again-and in some cases, connecting with a doctor or physical therapist might be the best way to go about doing so. And yoga is one exercise modality that can target both of these things. While there can be a ton of causes of low back pain, a weak core and poor posture from sitting all day (and consequently shortening the hip muscles that then pull on the lower back) are two really common contributing factors to lower back aches and discomfort. That’s where yoga for the spine-and those other all-important back areas-comes in. That’s true whether you’re looking for lower back pain relief or you’re ache-free but want gentle stretches as a way to strengthen lower back muscles. The lower back can be a sensitive spot for many people, which means lower back stretches should make up a key part of your movement mix. Dear Friends & Colleagues of Hospitality House, I think I have memories of being at school and my peers asking ‘what is it? Is it a special occasion?’ĭevin’s brother: And then you also got a good breakfast cereal and then you know for the next couple days after your birthday it would last.ĭevin’s sister: It was such a treat because back then Mom barely treated us to junk food.ĭevin: And then she did eventually admit to erasing those “treats” from her memory.ĭevin’s Mom: Yeah, see all the stuff I was just trying to erase from my memory! (laughs)ĭevin: Because when we were kids, what was your thought on giving us any kind of junk food or sugary food?ĭevin’s Mom: Oh, no way. I mean, the treats were…ĭevin’s sister: Every birthday we got to choose where we wanted our special lunch at school and Mom would go out to the restaurants and sometimes it was McDonald’s…ĭevin’s sister: And she’d bring back that Happy Meal or whatever. (laughs)ĭevin: When I said I was surprised by what my Mom ate in her childhood, it’s because it’s such a stark contrast from what my siblings and I remember from our childhood, even if mom forgets.ĭevin’s brother: We didn’t get treats. I don’t remember what I cooked… I don’t know. When I asked her what she thought we might remember from our childhood, she conveniently couldn’t recall any foods.ĭevin’s Mom: I have no idea. (laughs) And Alphabets for breakfast.ĭevin: So the mom I know today and the Mom I grew up with would never serve those foods to us. My mom, on the other hand, recalls some very classic child-like favourites, which are interesting for other reasons.ĭevin’s Mom: Peanut butter and jam sandwiches for lunch every day with pink milk. And so, even talking about those foods and the memories of those foods still holds a very powerful connection for him. I think that’s because his Mom recently passed away. They were only done at that part of the year.ĭevin: I don’t know if you can tell, but when I asked him and when I listened back, I can hear this softness in my Dad’s voice when he answers. Taralli is a sweet bread that’s made at Easter and it’s kinda shaped like a bagel, only braided. It was something his mom used to make.ĭevin’s Dad: I’d have to say the tarallis or ginettes that my mom used to make. The kind you’d expect when thinking about a nostalgic food. When I asked my parents, my Dad had a very sweet answer. If I ask my siblings or parents what foods they remember from their childhood, they’re all going to have different answers. And the foods that we define as the best are all so unique because they’re rooted in those connections. Not necessarily because they’re the best foods we’ve ever eaten, but because they have those sentimental stories attached to them or those really memorable moments attached to them.ĭevin: Those sentimental stories, those moments- I love that connection. And that’s often the food that we credit with being the best foods in our lives. Like ‘oh, I ate this growing up and my mom made this for me or my dad made this for me or whatever it was. Kat: But often times, the best foods are the foods that have stories behind them. She and I equally love talking about food, eating food, and sharing stories about food. Kat: Food is a big part of people’s lives and culture…ĭevin: That’s my friend Kat. Whether they are meals your parents or grandparents used to make, or just foods from the store that send you right back to moments of your younger self as soon as you taste them again. Sometimes these comforts are old playlists or movies and shows. And more specifically, food and nostalgia.Īt some point in our adulthood we all start yearning for the comforts of our childhood. Because for this one, I want to share some food for thought… literally I just want to talk about food. And what I like about this joke is that it makes me feel like it’s actually okay to not take every episode so seriously. Devin (host): There’s this joke I see about podcasts sometimes that pokes fun at the trope that shows or episodes like to reveal something really serious or game changing about whatever topic they’re discussing. The most significant disadvantage of this program is that it's not entirely free. Finally, you can save the file in one of the output formats, and then you're done. If you make a mistake, it's easy to undo or redo the process. From there on, you can add the available audio effects and adjust the volume. You then select the cutting region and click 'Cut' to remove the rest. Once you launch it and load your data, you'll get to see it in the waveform for visual editing. You can also fade in and fade out your audio.Ĭutting your files through this application is straightforward. The 'Change Volume' button gives you granular control through a slider. Finally, this application doesn't recompress your files, which means you won't suffer a loss of quality during splitting.Īlthough this bundle of software doesn't feature many advanced options for changing your audio data, it's more than enough for general use.Īpart from the trimming options, it allows you to play with volume. With the built-in audio player, you'll be able to hear the final product. When you pick it, it shows you your audio in a waveform, and you manually choose where to cut via the interface. Furthermore, it can add ID3v1 and ID3v2 tags to your output files for a more comfortable separation.Īnother useful feature is the visual splitting option. If you're handling file batches, it will split them for you. You perform most of the functions through single mouse clicks. It also comes with an automatic silence detector, helping you note the parts that you want to be extracted. You can even have it do the work automatically by specifying the desired duration of each clip. It isn’t a DAW like FL Studio or Cubase.Īs its name suggests, this software simply cuts audio files. You won't need any prior experience to learn it, but it won't help you with more advanced tasks, either. Note, though, that its design caters to novice and casual users. So, in essence, whichever reason you have for cutting an audio file, it has you covered with precision and minimal hassle. You can use it to clip or adjust audio, or when you need only a part of the recording.Īnother handy use is for clipping sections of music to use, for example, as your ringtone. The program is compatible only with MP3 and WAV files, without support for other typical audio data formats like OGG. This piece of software serves a seamless, tiny audio editing tool for people who would find more feature-packed programs such as Audacity as a bit of an overkill. This will allow us to treat problems early, and save the plant or prevent its production from being unsuccessful. Learning how to examine cannabis leaves as a further step in growing technique is very important. Special care must be taken with substrates that already contain nutrients. To solve it you have to adjust the dose of nutrients correctly. The first thing to establish is which of your seedling leaves turned yellow. When the yellow tips are left untreated, this symptom will get worse and spread over most of the leaf. Controlling the level and regulating it is key to prevent this from happening. The pH of the water can be another reason why the leaves turn yellow. It is best to put a finger 2cm into the ground to check if it is dry or wet. Plants with excessive or insufficient watering will fall and show symptoms through the yellow leaves. Marijuana plants, such as Orange Blossom or Super Lemon Haze, like a wet-dry cycle for their roots. The solution is to increase the amount of light that the plant receives, lowering the light or with a greater lighting system. Without enough light, the leaves will start to turn yellow and eventually slow growth to a halt. PH levels can also cause this symptom.ĭuring photosynthesis, leaves absorb light and carbon dioxide (CO2) and convert it into plant energy. Keep the growing area at a constant 23/26 degrees to avoid this problem and keep the fans running even when the lights are off. Yellow leaves can also be a sign of heat stress. After adjusting the amount, carefully evaluate the new leaves that are formed to see if the problem continues. It is best to read the product label and slightly reduce the dosage. Nutrient abuse is a common problem for beginning growers who assume more is better. Regarding the leave tips, when they are yellow, or slightly curled (apart from yellow) it may be a sign of a small nitrogen burn due to excess nutrients. The shape and color of a plant communicates a lot about the health of the plant and shows us tell-tale signs of what the grower is doing wrong or can improve – these are some of the most common foliar abnormalities. To understand what happens to the plant, the most important thing is observation. Regardless of the professionalism of the grower, if the problems in the marijuana plant are detected early enough, changes can be made in the practice that will help us to recover the plants. Luckily, the marijuana plant always speaks to us and these mistakes or deficiencies can happen in both expert crops and beginner crops. Pests can also appear if the grow room does not respect the proper temperature and humidity, among other things. Despite being a strong and resistant plant, cannabis can suffer from excess or lack of nutrients if applications are not done correctly. |
